TREATMENT

TITLE: The brothers game 

TOPIC INTRODUCTION:

Three brothers and their family are involved in shady dealings. Charles is an importer of illegal drugs, but his brothers Max and Angus, realise he has been leaving them out and they want their share. When they confront him it’s bad news for Charles as his brothers kill him.    

SYNOPSIS:

Blackness. A birds eye view of an office appears, in the corner is a desk with a light that is turned on. The camera moves down to reveal a hand picking up a black hard drive from the desk. Charles sits at his office desk, his hand moves to his ear and he twirls his fingers. Staring at the hard drive, his thoughts drift to the past and we see 5 shots of Charles past are rapidly shown, a black van appears an anonymous man steps out of the van. Charles shakes the mans hand, the man returns back to the van. Charles standing at his desk picking up the phone and bringing it up to his ear. Black Boxes are unloaded from a truck that is parked in the alley, three big men and Charles are taking them into a store room. Black parcel packages are being hidden in the store room, Charles placing the packages on the shelves. Charles and anonymous man are sitting at the table, the camera from a birds eye view with only the light turned on above them. Max and Angus enter the bakery shop, that is located on the corner at the end of the street. A man is leaning against a tree in the park, Max and Angus approach the man making a deal with him. Max and Angus receive a package which contains a loaded gun inside from the man. The gun is placed in the bedside draw at Max’s house. Charles counting money at the counter bench, immediately he hides the money when the brothers enter the scene. Charles entering an empty factory leaving the black parcels on the table near the exit door. The black van appears and is parked outside the factory but leaves immediately when Charles walks out of the factory. Charles entering a bedroom searching for his lost brief case which is located in the wardrobe but he notices that the bed side draw is open. Charles leaves the house slamming that door behind him. A car drives into the scene, it is parked outside the corner shop. Charles walks towards his office opening the door furiously and notices the hard drive is missing. Standing in his office Charles hear’s a foot step noise, the light turns off, the lamp light goes on. Max’s shadow appears up from behind Charles, Angus’s shadow enters pointing the gun towards Charles head. Charles sits at his chair and in a blink he was shot instantly by his brother.

• Narration which will be done a bit throughout the film as in some scenes only soundtrack music has being added. 
• Main character-Charles, who owns a bakery and makes a lot of 
• money, but has two brothers Max and Angus whom are jealous of him. He imports illegal drugs into the country. 
• Max and Angus, who frame Charles and kill him because he makes all the money and they are jealous of him.
• The dealers, they make the deals with Charles and the two brothers.

JUSTIFICATION:

The brothers game is a movie based on a true story, it tells a story about a man named Charles who is involved in illegal business but keeps it a secret from his brothers Max and Angus who confront him later on and kill him. The movie is a very dramatic film which is what Francis Ford Coppola makes his films out to be ‘Dramatic’. The characters in the movie are very ‘gangsta’ as I've decided to create a movie based off one of Francis Ford Coppola’s films ‘The God Father’. The shots that are used are very similar to Coppola’s ones as they tell a dark story has deep emotions just like Coppola in his work. In his films Coppola tenses to use warm lighting which is what I will use in my film. So it gives the audience a more real connection with the film.
